My journey has taken me from the dojo to the newsroom, allowing me to hone my abilities in both Martial Arts instruction and MMA journalism.As a Senior Martial Arts Instructor at Cervizzi’s Martial Arts, I've not only taught students but also contributed to the dojo's operations and efficiency. From managing administrative tasks to streamlining the promotion system and transitioning to digital tournament management, I've played a pivotal role in enhancing the overall martial arts experience.My journalistic journey has been equally exciting. As a journalist with MMA Island, I've covered a wide range of MMA events, with a particular focus on the vibrant New England regional MMA scene. I've conducted interviews, written news articles, and provided live event coverage. Additionally, I've embarked on a new venture, Trial by Combat, where I'm more actively involved in creating content and reporting on the MMA scene.I recently graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology/Criminal Justice and a minor in Forensics from Merrimack College. As a proud member of Alpha Phi Sigma, the Criminal Justice Honor Society, I had the honor of serving as Vice President. I am excited to be returning to Merrimack College to pursue my Master's degree.In addition to my professional achievements, I've been recognized for my leadership abilities, including founding and presiding over the North Andover Gaming Club and contributing to the Race Amity Club. Senior Martial Arts Instructor
As a senior instructor, I became more involved with the logistics and operation of the dojo. I performed more administrative duties such as processing memberships & sales, data trends & analysis, and communications. I was able to streamline many processes such as the promotion system to better incentivize and reward higher attendance. In addition to that, I created transparency to the students regarding our material and attendance expectations of them through the creation of a chart showing what is required of them at every rank. I would also assume the responsibilities of the Chief Instructor in his absence. I also heavily assisted in the logistics and performance of our Martial Arts tournaments. I pushed the transition from running the tournament with pen & paper to using a tournament program to streamline the process. I then helped manage the scorekeepers and registration staff & volunteers in using the program to ensure a smooth run of our tournament. Since this implementation, our tournaments have seen a 50% decrease in runtime due to increased efficiency.

Martial Arts Instructor
Teaching children and adults in the Cervizzi’s Self-Defense System & Cervizzi’s Grappling System. I acted as the 2nd in command of the North Andover dojo under Chief Instructor Luke Kimball. During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, my dojo was forced to close for a duration, and was planning on using FaceBook live to do online classes. I did my research and had a pitch meeting the next day where I explained the program Zoom, which was chosen. We became one of the first companies around the world to transition to Zoom, having done so on March 16th, 2020. I then lead the operation to have virtual classes using Zoom.
