Software Engineering Team Lead
Stationed at NASA's largest rocket engine test facility, I am working to design and build a data acquisition system to support rocket engine, lower stage, and engine component testing. Rocket propulsion testing is critical to safety, reliability, and sustainability of the aerospace industry. NDAS plays a critical role in the industry by providing accurate test data to all stakeholders at an increasing number of NASA test facilities and for an increasing number of engine programs. It is currently deployed across three different test stands at Stennis Space Center; the A1, A2, and B2 test stands. These facilities have a long heritage of testing including the Saturn V, the S-II, and the launch vehicle for the Apollo program. The stands continue to be utilized today for the testing of next-generation Aerojet Rocketdyne J2-X and RS-25 engines, and the new SLS core stage. NDAS has played a critical role in providing accurate test data for these engines and will continue to be used for future programs.Our NDAS software earned an honorable mention for the NASA Software of the Year Award.My role on the NDAS project is diverse, ranging from low-level application development to high-level project direction. Technical experience on this project includes the following: ● LabVIEW application design, development, and debugging in the Actor Framework● MYSQL and MSSQL database design, data management, data migration, and database API development in LabVIEW● UI and UX design for all NDAS applications, including stand/instrumentation configuration application● Data Acquisition interface development with Pacific Instruments and Presys-Preston hardware● Controls system interface development with Kepware OPC server● Experience with absolute pressure, gauge pressure, strain, vibration, thermocouple, and RTD transducers● Experience with real-time graphical displays, real-time derived measurement calculations, and data logging application development.
Integrated Product Team Lead
As Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead for the Canadian Census program, I reporting directly to the chief engineer and project manager. Responsibilities include:Work directly with customer to elicit requirements and change requests throughout the programManage team schedule, budget and technical scope with EVMServe as technical lead for all customer interfaces on the programLead the development and integration of innovative Census Practice COTs productsThe team ultimately delivered the system under budget and on time with high customer satisfaction.

I worked as a lead developer on the United Kingdom Census project. I focused on program start up activities and then provided an experienced presence across various development teams. I worked with development teams, the chief engineer, and program management to ensure deliverables were pushed on schedule and with high quality. Responsibilities included:● Participating in process improvement activities on a program level.● Designing and developing enterprise-grade applications ● Leading various design and implementation activities across multiple program IPTs.This program, like other census programs required collecting and organizing data from over 60 million citizens in the UK. The systems for the UK Census included functionality to capture paper questionnaire data in addition to internet form data.
Software Engineer
I transitioned to this role to focus on innovative IRAD (Independent Research and Development) projects for the Census programs. Both projects were focused on building systems to link and correlate records in large data sets across a population. Responsibilities included: ● Developing system architecture for linking multiple records across a population.● Researching and collaborate with various software vendors in record linking space.● Collaborating with COTS vendors to complete and build out the system.The team and I were awarded a patent for this work. It also resulted in a significant improvement to the existing system by reducing US census operation costs by millions of dollars.
Software Engineering Associate
I began my career at Lockheed Martin designing, developing, and testing mission-critical applications for the 2010 United States Census data capture and processing system. The system was built to collect and organize data from over 300 million US citizens. As such, issues of application scalability, performance, and data integrity were paramount. Responsibilities included:● Developing database syncing applications, data quality assurance applications, digital imaging applications, and OCR/OMR applications● Collaborating with development teams and adjacent test teams for design and code reviews.During this period, I was inducted into the Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP). Young engineers are chosen based on technical aptitude and leadership ability from across the company for a three year leadership training program.
