Andries' expertise lies in the domain of "standards-based interoperability" to realize health information exchanges. Throughout his career he has been exposed to many interoperability standards such as DICOM, HL7 and he has been involved with IHE from the start. In his current role at Founda Health Andries leads the product management team as Chief Product Officer and is responsible for Founda's product roadmap and portfolio.As Forcare co-founder he has been actively helping healthcare organizations sharing health information through standards-based interoperability solutions advocating an #interoperabilityisamindset attitude. After being acquired by Philips in 2017 Andries helped advancing product development within the Interoperability Solutions business unit, and worked on building out Philips Interoperability portfolio towards a cloud-based solution. Early in the COVID pandemic he was responsible for setting up Philips’ COVID19 Portal to support the exchange of clinical information for corona patients in the Netherlands. In prior roles Andries lead the product development of Forcare's product portfolio and has been successful selling Forcare solutions to both small and (very) large Health Information Exchanges. He has a solid understanding of the market and customer needs and is regularly invited to talk about the challenges associated with safe, secure and reliable health information exchanges .As a software engineer Andries started his career with the development of PACS workstation, web-based image distribution and large scale medical image archiving (a.k.a. VNA).
