For the past 20 years, I have been involved in the logistics sector through various management roles. Currently, I am the Sales Director at Logistika Pluss OÜ. We operate in the field of warehousing and production logistics. Based in Estonia, we have over 40,000 m2 of Grade-A warehouse space through which over 20,000 pallets circulate weekly. Two things have been my constant source of motivation. The first is the desire to constantly challenge myself. Every day in logistics is different. One day you could be dealing with the customs department and the next you could be looking at a ship stuck in the Suez Canal. Secondly, I enjoy working with people. Logistics is a high-stakes job that demands the ability to handle pressure. It is not just important that I can do my work well. I also have to make sure that my actions positively affect my colleagues, and I can be their support when needed.There have been two main challenges that I have overcome during my work at Logistika Pluss.In 2018, my first task was overseeing our rates. The company was operating at a loss at various times, and we had to increase prices by 15-25%. Also, we needed to lower operating costs, which meant headcount reductions across departments. This was a very difficult time, but we managed to overcome it without losing a single customer. The team also grew closer and became stronger.The next challenge was to change the public image of Logistika Pluss towards a manufacturing orientated service provider. We worked for 2 years, and in 2019 we started to see new customers from the automotive industry and electronics sector. Looking back, my first job in logistics wasn't intentional. At the age of 18 I was studying law and started to work as a logistics clerk to pay for my studies. 20+ years later, I can say that it has been a very fulfilling journey.
