I have long specialized in delivering hard-to-get news to professionals in business and finance and in training journalists to accomplish that mission.In 2020, my business partner and I sold Harrison Scott Publications, a financial-news service we founded 30 years earlier, to Newport Beach, Calif.-based Green Street. HSP published four weekly newsletters whose missions were to deliver exclusive, high-value intelligence and data to professionals in their respective industries: commercial real estate investment, real estate finance, hedge funds and the worldwide market for asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities.Among my other duties at HSP, I recruited high-caliber journalists and trained them in the markets we covered.In 1987, prior to co-founding HSP, I launched and managed a financial-newsletter division of American Banker/Bond Buyer, which at the time was owned by Thomson, now known as Thomson Reuters.Prior to that, I worked as a financial reporter in Washington, D.C., and then New York for American Banker, a daily newspaper.
