‘Faster Payments’ system. - continuation of Project started March 2007 (see below)Project developed a new industry wide banking system to allow immediate electronic payments.Integrated this new system into Bank of Santander core Partenon.Work performed:• Ensured that the accountancy; settlement and back office systems met Abbey requirements.• Helped complete system and user acceptance test scripts.• Ensured transactions were correctly applied to the banking databases.• Investigated testing issues with the architecture team including MQ calls, database updates, batch schedules etc

Pension system enhancement.Online code written on a client server interacted with the existing system using DB2 stored procedures and MQ service code.Work performed:• Produced new PDF COBOL programs using both IMS and DB2 database systems for a large system enhancement.• JCL was written for batch code.• Online program specifications and designed end user screens.• Detailed integration test document for one of the project phases. This was later adopted as the standard and used by all the other teams on the project.

Major move of a POPIMS system on an IBM mainframe.Worked within a team of programmers converting COBOL 1 code to COBOL E.Work performed:• Rewrote a large number of JCL programs to new system standards and made necessary changes to IMS and DB2 modules.• All changes were made under the CHANGEMAN configuration management system.

Responsible for a team of five who supported and maintained BT's Telecom Asset Registration & Depreciation System on an ICL Mainframe using COBOL, SCL, TPMS, INGRES 6.4.The work involved handing out work, giving deadlines and monitoring progress, which is reported to the Project Manager.Work performed:• Maintained and developed both on-line and batch programs.• Specified and estimated new requirements and audited work by colleagues.• Programming techniques used include using temporary tables, views, procedures, dynamic SQL and cursors.Support analyst/programmer on a number of key accounting systems, including a batch processing system on an IBM mainframe using COBOL, DB2, JCL, CICS, SELCOPY, CA7, FILEAID, VSAM, and an ORACLE suspense correction system using FORMS, PL/SQL and UNIX.Work performed:• Provided both out of hours and office hours support where it was essential to provide resolutions to a tight deadline.• Dealt with user queries and problems.• Analysed, coded and tested new requirements.• Reviewed and audited test results of other team members.• Reviewed specifications and Code.

Project was to streamline the Talisman Bought Transfer System.Work performed:• Re-worked several IDMSX and COBOL programs.• Coded a large number of AM250 programs• Performed unit testing for the re-write of the on-line system.• Supported and maintained several established systems.• Prepared estimates, specifications and performed audits of code.• Acted as team leader on selected large enhancements.• Produced an impact analysis into the effect of CREST upon the Dividend Production system and then produced a requirements specification.
