I set up Bedouin Trails as a CIC. My work consisted of developing and writing a business plan, applying for funding opportunities, attending startup business support conferences and courses. Alongside this my work involved selling trekking holidays to larger tour operators and to individuals. I was then responsible for setting up the itineraries, liaising with local staff in Egypt, arranging logistical support and then leading the trips on the ground in Egypt. My other role within Bedouin Trails was the design and run training for local staff in Egypt to develop their skills and enable them to take on more responsibilities within the organisation.
