In depth experience gained over three decades in specialist factual filmmaking still enriches as I learn new tricks every single day. I spent 20 years making wildlife films based from Bristol, 19 of those with the renowned BBC Natural History Unit. During 4 years spent living and working from a boat with my family, I started Amberjack Films, determined to find new approaches to engaging audiences with story. My past includes industry classics like Blue Planet and Planet Earth. My present sees greater emphasis of different cultures on story approach, gained through working in France and reaching out to an international community of filmmakers. My future will share my experience with that community and reach further into the new possibilities of the digital age storyteller: through new media and advanced camera and audio developments. At Amberjack I lead on the development, marketing, executive producing and feature direction. We oversee both production and a growing and dynamic top of class equipment rental business under a separate venture called Bigeye Rentals.
