Evolution Training and Consultancy provide technical training and consultancy services within the calibration and testing industry. I have over 20 years of experience within this industry sector. Over the years I have been involved in both the support and development of existing calibration/test systems and also full development of new calibration/test systems from the design stage through to accreditation and day-to-day operation.My experience has been varied, with a number of junior roles in various calibration and testing disciplines during my early career, followed by primary roles of team leader for temperature and electrical calibration and laboratory manager for vibration testing and accelerometer calibration. My main specialities lie in accelerometer calibration, which was my main role at CSA/SIRA for over 15 years. During this period the capabilities of the accelerometer calibration laboratory were under constant review to ensure it stayed at the head of the field. In 2008 I developed a shock calibration facility, which was the first facility of its kind to be accredited by UKAS. To this day, it is still unique in being the only UKAS accredited shock calibration facility in the UK.During my years in the industry, I also developed a keen interest in software and process automation. I have developed a number of bespoke software solutions for calibration and testing processes, which have helped to reduce labour and overheads whilst increasing process efficiency.I hope that setting up Evolution Training and Consultancy will enable me to share some of the knowledge I have gained with clients that are either having difficulty with existing products and facilities or would like help to develop new ones.
