On the board of trustees at Carers Trust South East Wales in a voluntary capacity

I support all aspects of CISWO grant applications, collaborating with colleagues and partners to develop and execute engaging applications to a range of funders in order to support the work with our client groups.I have a particular focus on identifying appropriate funding opportunities and writing high quality compelling applications, in order to generate additional income for the charity to further develop our services.

In my expanded role within the Cii, I have progressed to encompass the responsibility of overseeing organizational partnerships and identifying income-generating opportunities.

This role saw me responsible for overseeing and diversifying income streams for the organisation, including tender submissions, statutory and third sector funds and through fundraising activities. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, I was instrumental in organisational developments, providing a key and critical voice to assist in the continued progression of the charity, enabling us to support unpaid carers across South East Wales.Few key Achievements:- Successful in submitting and obtaining multiple contracts through tender submissions- Successful in obtaining funding through a variety of income streams. via statutory ioncome and trusts and foundationsInc. As part of the Fundraising Team I am responsible for creating and managing corporate partnerships in order to raise income through organisational sponsorship. Increasing charity income through trust and foundations is another large aspect of my role.

This role saw me continue responsibilities for The Community Aspire Project and EMS from my previous role within the organisation. In addition to this my main workload was to work with an existing team to develop a new project aimed a people affected by drug and alcohol misuse in the Swansea area. This role saw me develop an existing project concept into a new project that would be beneficial to the target group and attractive to possible funders. As part of this process I submitted a stage 1 Big Lottery Bid. This role also included continual support for the Community Aspire Project to ensure the new project was set up successfully

Key in overseeing the development of all of Drugaid’s social enterprise activity, including Tyfu Community Interest Company (CIC), a standalone social enterprise trading arm set up through Drugaid. This role sees me identify and write appropriate funding applications to generate income streams for Drugaid and Tyfu CIC, be key in the contribution of the ongoing development of Tyfu CIC and support various groups of colleagues and service users in the progression of social enterprise ideas. This role includes managerial responsibilities for a team of three paid employees and around twenty volunteers during my tenure. As a senior within the organisation, this position has also seen me contribute to the ongoing development of Drugaid procedures by being influential in policy, organisational practice and website development.

As part of the Real opportunities Project, a European funded project aimed at assisting 14 – 19 year olds with special education needs (SEN) in the transition from education to employment, I developed a Social Enterprise based at an SEN specialist school. This included conducting research with project participants to design and shape an appropriate social enterprise idea, carry out market research to determine the feasibility of the enterprise, prepare a business plan and identify and attract viable funding to progress the developments.Key Achievements Raised funds via a variety of sources including grant applications, money raising initiatives and partner links Explored various Social Enterprise projects before identifying an appropriate social enterprise through research and analysis which led to the development of a business plan Secured development funding through winning a public vote by successfully marketing project idea Selected to represent the Mayor of Bridgend’s Charity Commission in order to secure further project funding Worked with partners to carry out a profession feasibility study to determine the viability of the proposed enterprise.

 Partnership work and collaborative development with various organisations to increase participation in sport.  Developed a disability sports club; Increased membership and participation by 50% over one year Obtained £40,000 funding from the Aquatic Swimming Association for a Free Kids Swimming Project Increased participation rates in swimming by 75%  Planning, organising and delivering multi-sport sessions to encourage young people to enjoy sport Event organisation and management of Worcester City Sports Awards, School Sports Partnership Clubs Day and FA Charter Standard Football Festival.  Event marketing, speaker liaison, exhibitor and delegate recruitment and on the day management.  Developed and distributed a monthly sport newsletter to key partners and stakeholders  Established equality principles and policies within Worcester City Council. Supporting the development of a fair, equitable and ethical sporting system within Worcester City Council.  Recognising and removing the barriers people faced when involved, or wanting to be involved in sport.
