Dr Andy Cope is an internationally recognised expert in research, evaluation and monitoring in active travel. Andy is the Director of Insight at Sustrans, and his work focuses on getting best value from the evidence that Sustrans generates about the effectiveness of work that they and others deliver in support of walking and cycling. Andy has extensive academic experience and a huge amount of practical expertise, which provide a solid foundation for work on policy development and application of learning. He set up and managed Sustrans’ Research and Monitoring Unit, a national centre of excellence which provides evidence for Sustrans and other organisations to demonstrate the value of their active travel initiatives.
