As a project manager within the Data Center Operations (DCO) / IT Shared Services Group, I worked on many time-critical, customer-sensitive projects centered around software development environments including database refreshes, migrations, and storage utilization planning. As part of the DCO team I brought together cross-functional departments to support client centric initiatives aiding in SAAS uptime, general operability, and to meet compliance goals.

Rochester Electronics is a distributor of semiconductors focusing as an "extension of life" provider for industries needing a 5 - 20+ year sourcing solution. I worked on marketing and manufacturing initiatives centered around micro-chip wafer and finished parts projects to support customers long-term product needs. I developed a working relationship with all technical and customer-facing teams to best market, maintain, and plan inventory levels. Through analyzing customers parts lists, industry sales history, I provided marketing and sales groups with data to properly forecast inventory needs. Additionally, I also scheduled and administered semiconductor device manufacturing projects which utilized currently available fab processes to “re-create” older device designs. Device re-creations effectively lengthened the lifespan of an “out of life” device to support industries that need them [Aerospace, Transport, Military]. These projects were strategic to Tier-1 customers as they alleviated the need for more expensive circuit board re-design and certification.

I participated in the video-editing industry during an exciting era - the convergence of processing, bus-speed, and disk-speed that allowed for real-time editing of high-definition video. Now it's industry standard with the advent of solid-state drives, however much of the development in my years at 1 Beyond ushered the foundation of today's high-definition fidelity in both TV and entertainment production. At 1 Beyond, I integrated video specific hardware with workstation-class PC platforms for highly-tuned custom configurations. In addition to this, I take pride in the support my group gave Boston-area sports teams (Celtics and Bruins), broadcasting stations (ESPN and WCVB Channel 5), gaming customers (Electronic Arts: Grand Theft Auto 4), and branches of the US Armed Forces.

As the Provisioning Manager in charge of equipment purchases, customer installation / migrations, and facility construction projects, I confronted and overcame the challenges of a venture-backed start-up during the dot-com era. My projects touched every area of the company from building the facility, to providing the service, to creating the image we sold our customers. My background in architectural design and systems furniture brought great benefits in directing construction decisions in order to build an infrastructure with both power and longevity. The U.S. Datacenters facility is still in operation today. The facility is a 400 rack datacenter with central UPS in an N+1 configuration, backed by a 1.5 MW generator, N+1 cooling capacity, and multiple network routes.
