I've been in further education for a long time, working in Manchester, Oldham, Blackpool, London and now Bristol. I started as a secondary school English teacher and worked my way up the career ladder in a variety of Curriculum and Student Support roles. I've been Principal of three colleges - Hertford Regional, College of North East London and City & Islington College. My passion is social mobility - the vital role of education in improving people's life chances.
