I started at Sadlers Wells as a casual in 1985 working on a variety of shows , opera , ballet , contemporary dance and musicals . I then worked at Wimbledon Theatre from 1988 to 1990 and also as a casual in the West End , mostly at Sadlers Wells and for English National Ballet ( then London Festival Ballet ) . In 1990 i moved to Sheffield and worked as the Head Flyman at the Lyceum Theatre for 2 years before taking over as SM for a further 3 1/2 years . I was then a freelance stage manager and production carpenter for 20 years before working for Bill Kenwright Limited as the Head of Stage and a production consultant and as a freelance technical director.
