My team works with wire houses, broker dealers, Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), sub-advisory, and retirement professionals. Our work focuses primarily on public equities, public fixed income, and alternative investments including private equity, hedge funds, and liquid alternative investments. I spend a great deal of my time developing my team with product training, mentoring, and coaching, as well as implementing more efficient and effective sales processes. ◆ When I came on board, I inherited a team that had been without leadership for six months. Through voluntary and involuntary turnover of more than ¾ of my team, implementing new processes and systems, and changing the culture, I was able to transform this team. The metrics are evidence that the team is moving in the right direction: we experienced a 16.5% increase in gross team flows from 2021 to 2023 and a 52.2% increase in team engagement over the same time period.◆ As a two-phase pipeline, I built a three-person service desk as a feeder for junior hires; I then structured an internship program as a feeder for the service desk. The service desk focuses on clients outside the firm’s traditional coverage universe; the internship is an eight-week rotational program complete with curriculum and daily activities to give them a substantive experience. ◆ The data test I designed allows us to accurately assess job candidates’ ability to manipulate, restructure, and analyze data.
