Mechanical design engineering, project management & documentationKey achievement - Completion of test-rig project for AWSThis involved a design review leading to key changes which reduced project cost and risk. I then produced method statements & risk assessments for site work which I supervised during installation phase. Finally I led the commissioning and testing of instrumentation & SCADA to successfully complete the project meeting the required targets.

Delivering an FEA resource for Engineering design and development within AWS

Working in the marine renewables industry at Wavegen for over six years I have developed strong design skills, taking designs from selection of concept to manufacture then implementation at a remote test site. This development work has involved working both autonomously and as part of a small team during which I have written initial specifications, carried out design calculations, performed finite element analysis and prepared drawings for manufacture.I have worked with FMEAs and Risk Assessments as an integral part of the design process. As designs near completion I have been involved in the preparation of method statements and risk assessments for use at a remote test site. I often had the opportunity to manage and take part in site visits and carry out installation work and experiments.
