I am responsible for the development, maintenance and management of NCUKs brand, marketing its products and services globally. I lead, manage and develop a marketing team that will deliver NCUK’s external affairs strategy and its internal communications.As a member of NCUK’s Strategic Leadership Team, I share responsibility for delivering NCUK’s Strategic Plan and for determining its strategic direction, including the increase digitisation of its operations, products, services in international markets.

I lead and direct Universities UK International's external affairs activity to maintain and enhance the higher education sectors reputation, championing the voice of our members to establish UK universities as global leaders in international education. Through delivering award winning campaigns and events, impactful media and external communications activity, highly rated member and stakeholder engagement, my team manage issues and crises and identifying opportunities to proactively tell the story of how education transforms lives and is a force for good in the world.Team achievements include:> 3 awards for our #WeAreTogether campaign, which reassured more than 67% of prospective international students to continue to study in the UK during the Covid-19 pandemic, mitigating a significant financial risk for the sector.> Developed and delivered a communications strategy to raise awareness of UK higher educations response to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, launching the award winning #TwinForHope campaign, which helped deliver 100 twinning partnerships between UK and Ukrainian universities, £5m of funding to support these partnerships, and drove a 36% uplift in positive public perceptions towards UK universities.> Political influencing: developed and delivering the #StickToScience campaign, lobbying the European Commission and UK Government to finalise the UK’s association to Horizon Europe.> 2 awards for our events programme, including for our flagship International Higher Education Forum.> Doubled income generated from events and commercial partnerships.> Developed a new UUKi strategy, and led and delivered a digital brand refresh.> Improved membership feedback, of particular note, delivering an uplift to 100% of members strongly valuing or valuing our communications (up from 87%, and across 82 member responses).> I lead a teams of 30+, and manage six figure budgets.> I sit on the organisations senior leadership team.

I directed and led the design and delivery of the University’s global communications and engagement strategy for alumni and supporters, an audience of more than 200,000 across 180+ countries. I led the University's events programme, alumni and supporter communications, its volunteering activities and its regular giving fundraising programme.Team achievements included:> Creating and developing the University’s first global alumni communications and engagement strategy to support the University’s 10-year plan.> Developing and delivering the University’s first alumni engagement campaign, Replay, which drove an increase from a 2% alumni engagement rate to an 11% alumni engagement rate inside two years. The campaign invited alumni to name a song that reminded them of a positive memory from their time at the University, and share their memory. It won a CASE Circle of Excellence Award,• Leading national and international media engagement, using alumni success stories for example to raise the reputation and profile of the University• Managing and developing the regular giving programme, securing £250,000+ in income and growing donor retention and acquisition.• Supporting the major gifts team with a £25m campaign to find a cure for cancer.• Developing and growing the volunteering programme, with particular focus on international student recruitment, student mentoring and graduate employability.• Developing and building the membership offering to grow engagement, including leading and developing the University corporate events programme – to include fundraising events, public facing brand and reputation events, international alumni events, recruitment events and others.• Managing budgets exceeding £500,000, leading a team of 14, and acting as a leader and key part of the Directorate’s Executive Senior Management Board.
