In my voluntary capacity as an Honorary Professor I support the college with strategic advice on the development of future-focused, inclusive learning for students, in the strategic shift to blended and digital learning, the use of self-directed learning approaches and in the professional development of faculty members. East to West provides direct support to vulnerable and “at risk” young people through schools, police and family relational support workers and supported lodgings. As a Director I provide support and strategic direction for the Trust including organisational development, HR and training, business planning and the definition of organisational risks.

At Hanover, a leading provider of older people's housing and support services, I managed a learning team of six training professionals and a £700,000 budget, delivering around 4,000 annual in-house training days, across 70 courses. Our accomplishments include achieving Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Approved Centre status, offering innovative CMI Level 5 diploma and Level 3 certificate management development programs. At Phoenix Futures, a leading UK substance misuse rehabilitation provider in residential, community, and prison services, I managed 3 training professionals and a £320,000 budget. We facilitated an average of 6.2 development days per employee yearly. Notably, the Government’s ‘National Treatment Agency’ recognized Phoenix Futures as a model of best practice for workforce development. Achievements included an innovative NVQ Level 4 management development program, an internal 'Train the Trainers' initiative with NVQ4 in Learning and Development and reaching the final of "Third Sector Employer of the Year" in 2009.

Led the organisation to gain the Investors in People standard, for the first time, developed competency frameworks for 90 job roles mapped against 17 occupational standards and designed a new competency-based appraisal scheme.

Pioneered new training and development ‘tracks’ for all managers, therapeutic and support staff, developed a Level 3 programme for drugs workers with over 200 enrolled and designed a residential corporate induction.

Responsible for the training provision of a network of Christian churches and charities involved in leadership development, community and education programmes in the UK and in Spain, Estonia, Germany, Burkina Faso, Uganda, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.

From architecture, manufacturing, transportation, and utilities to telecommunications, video games, television, and film, Autodesk customers lead the design world by improving their design processes through increased efficiency and productivity. The last 14 Academy Award® winners for Best Visual Effects used Autodesk® software. Whilst at Autodesk, I developed a wide range of print and digital training solutions to support dealerships, software end users and designers across Europe and Asia. This included supporting the authoring of the widely used City and Guilds AutoCAD 4351-1/2/3 accredited programmes - the first UK qualifications in computer aided design.

While lecturing at Brunel University provided consultancy to BBC Education on design of instructional materials.

Lecturing on the B.Sc. course in Industrial Design in computer aided design and graphic communication and on the Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) course. I was also year tutor for first year undergraduates, on the judging panel of Young Engineer for Britain and had three academic papers published based on research into the design of instructional materials in distance learning which led to the award of a Master of Philosophy research degree.
