I currently operate my own successful unique management consultancy which offers strategic and technical services to a variety of corporate clients, aligning their needs with deliverable tailored solutions. I meet with all my clients to analyse their business and understand its core objective/goals, developing innovative strategic and IT solutions to meet these needs and shape their current and future business visions. Our clients include a number of charities, local government and commercial organisations. Some of our key clients and details of projects include: • Medical charity - managed the implementation of a new finance system and integration with the organisation CRM-based grant management system.• V&A Museum: I led the project delivery of a major Microsoft Dynamics NAV implementation on time and budget, embedding project management controls and optimising the museum’s finance and EPOS systems.• Scottish charity: Drove the development of innovative business continuity and risk management strategies and delivered a continuity/risk solution that could be sold to other organisations for additional income.• Charitable organisation: I was engaged by the FD of this air ambulance charity to ensure the IT function became fit for purpose. I ran the procurement process and appointed a third-party IT provider to turn IT around.

Initially, I was appointed as an employee representative and was retained several times by successive CEOs. Key Achievements:• Revised the investment strategy and drove the successful buy-in of existing pensions in line with the board’s long-term objectives.• I play a key role in procurement and ensuring maximum value for money, including via auditing, accounting and administration services.

I migrated the organisation to a cloud-based strategy which enabled them to rapidly adopt a fully remote and hybrid means of working, overseeing all technology, change and adoption aspects. Key Achievements:• Delivered a new corporate CRM, finance system, intranet and eLearning portal, developed and deployed a new information strategy and migrated documents to SharePoint, boosting knowledge management/sharing.• Following successful completion, I was retained to collaborate with the senior leadership team in the identification of opportunities for greater efficiency as the organisation enters a rapid growth phase.

I directed major strategic digital and IT transformation programmes spanning all technology and change aspects.Key Achievements:• Embedded full programme governance structures to enable the effective management of digital transformation programmes, which the organisation still utilises today.• Worked with the incumbent outsourced IT supplier, which had been failing to deliver, in order to transition to a new, higher performing supplier.

I was engaged to design and deliver a major transformational IT change programme to implement a new Dynamics NAV ERP system across the organisation. I also led upgrade projects for the IT infrastructure.Key Achievements:• Successfully delivered a new Intranet, including a new information and document management strategy. • Designed a cloud-based IT strategy to support current and future organisational changes aligned to corporate objectives, which leveraged innovative, cutting-edge technologies. • Mentored the IT Manager to understand and execute the strategy, which reduced third-party dependence.

I ran the £10m IT transformation programme, outlining plans and embedding governance while leading six staff.Key Achievements:• Achieved the upgrade of Windows7/Office 2010 using VMWare Horizon desktop migration for 700 users.• Coordinated the upgrade of the Cisco telephony system with zero impact to normal services.• Drove the introduction of Dynamics and ensured full compliance with IT Audit and Microsoft Licensing.

I delivered key IT strategies and business changes around technology, including new IT, Finance and HR shared service functions. I led a team of 40 with an annual budget of £5m and oversaw all compliance issues. Key Achievements:• Supported the development of a new company-wide risk, business continuity and disaster recovery strategy. • Established a new shared services function to supply IT, finance and HR services to internal and external clients, generating additional revenue for the RPS following the separation of its regulatory powers.

I strategically managed IM/T, procurement, records management, events and house services operations. Key Achievements:• Drove all preparations for the splitting of systems and data into two separate entities ahead of the establishment of a new pharmaceutical regulator.• Managed the refurbishment of all AV and meeting facilities to provide a room hire function and appointed an external catering operation to create new income generation streams for the more commercial RPS.

In this role, I held responsibility for all elements of IM&T strategy and IT service delivery for over 370 staff.Key Achievements: • Embedded a new organisation-wide technical infrastructure design to create efficiencies and savings. • Facilitated the provision of critical IT support services to members via a new income generating website.• Successfully turned around the failing IT department to achieve external NCC accreditation.

I was responsible for all aspects of IT management, including systems, infrastructure, applications and support. I was appointed to this senior-level IT role to improve level of services of computer-based systems to the company. This focused on definition of an enterprise-wide IT strategy, aligned to long-term business expansion plans. I was a Member of the Global IT Board, responsible for the effective execution of IT strategy on a worldwide basis. I led a multi-functional team of 12+ IT staff, in addition to control of a £1.5m+ annual IT budget. During this time, I project-led the deployment of a £2m+ Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, delivered on-time. I also implemented medical/clinical systems in the UK as part of a worldwide rollout, including Documentum. Additionally, I led the deployment of an integrated client/server-based ERP system, replacing legacy AS/400 systems. I successfully managed the development of corporate intranet and internet sites as well, improving communications.
