Andy Mcbride Email and Phone Number
I am a highly-motivated Software Engineer who enjoys solving problems and creating low-cost, complex solutions for mission critical embedded flight software. Most of my experience has been developing applications written in C/C++, and creating integration and functional tests with Python. I also have some experience with MATLAB, Simulink/CoreSim, and assembly language. I have worked in Windows and Linux environments, and developed software for various RTOSs (VxWorks, FreeRTOS, and RTEMS). With a background in Aerospace Engineering, I understand the full system development lifecycle for satellite systems, from ATP to launch. The teams I have worked on align closely with Agile methodologies. Industry experience has made me proficient in change management and integration, using tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins, and Docker.• Worked on both ends of the system lifecycle, from conceptual design of a satellite flight software architecture, functional verification testing and SIQT, and on-orbit operations and maintenance• Focus in middleware and messaging between multiple embedded subsystems within an overall system architecture• Development work using Xilinx Vivado to create solutions for GigE, Spacewire, UART, and memory scrubbing• Excellent debugger and troubleshooter using tools such as JTAG, gdb, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other hardware debugging techniques• Envisioned complex solutions for "Test Like You Fly" environments for mission critical milestones that allowed for functional testing of satellite software without real flight hardware on hand
