Working for Pets at Home, the UKs largest Pet retailer as a Stock Control & QC Manager for the Southern Distribution Centre. Pets at Home has 303,000 sq ft of storage & Operational Capacity and services 145 stores. The distribution centre has over 4000 SKUs.Recruited to setup the Stock Department & implement a structured routine in a start up DC operation to service the Southern region of the UK. Managing weekly costs to stretch targets for both loss & damage adjustments, reporting to the General Manager daily on risks & areas of concern within the operation & providing solutions to reduce impact on service levels.Managing a team of 8 Stock Controllers in a 24/7 operation to provide complete support & ensuring that Stock availability is maximised though daily Stock routines.Reporting periodically trends and conclusions together with Stock accounting figures & costs to the site & Board of directors.Continous improvement to improve efficiency of the WMS system & the operation and to implement better ways of working through system development.Setting up & reviewing the Warehouse layout to ensure productive & efficient pick routes.Introducing standardised pallet configuration to maximise space utilisation & reduce internal transport movement costs.Liaising with the supply team on a daily basis regarding promotional activity & resolution of QC issues such as product recall, packaging re-work & compliance regulations.Complete Management of 2 outside storage clients to increase revenue & utilise surplus space.Ensuring accurate inventory levels through stock routines & preparation for regular external audit teams & system interface updates.

Managing a team of 12 personnel including 4 Stock Controllers and 8 Stock Clerks, managing risk within the business and to investigate Stock Loss, providing senior Management with a clear understanding of current issues. Stock Manager for a third party warehouse servicing 15 clients, my duties involved maintaining the SLA and reporting in Period Review meetings to discuss performance, period issues, improvement plans and review on implemented procedures. During this time I also produced a portfolio of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and was heavily involved in training and development of these procedures into the operation. My role included system development of the AS400 to improve effeciency within the warehouse and admin functions.
