Shady Lady Lighting was a family lighting business that was created by Susie Morter. In the early years it was a cottage industry style business focusing on hand crafted lamp shades. Later Susie's husband Guy Morter joined and it evolved into a lamp and fixture manufacturing company marketing to the residential lighting and furniture industries. Shady Lady had showrooms in Dallas, Highpoint, Las Vegas and Chicago. Their son Andy Morter joined the company and helped expand the business to the casual outdoor furniture market by developing a line of outdoor portable lamps.
