Responsible for the delivery of the safe, efficient day to day running of all UK rail operations across both bulk and Intermodal divisions. Act as strategic business partner to the UK MD, and the European COO to underpin the Freightliner UK operational performance and strategic position as the leading and safest rail freight operator in Europe. Ensuring that all rail activities and operations were performed in compliance with national rail regulations and laws governing the respective business operations.• Responsible for Operation delivery, Operations planning and business support rail teams across the UK.• Responsible for the service design, delivery and performance of all Freightliner services. New Business concepts and introduction of new services. Efficient utilisation of Freightliner resources and assets.• Responsible for safe and on time delivery of c200 trains a day in the UK across both bulk and intermodal rail divisions which accounted for c800,000 ISO containers moved annually and c12million tonnes of bulk product moved.• Responsible for effective and safe deployment of c900 rail staff across the UK

National

Oversaw the delivery, installation and commissioning of new Liebherr RMG rail side cranes at the Freightliner along with new mobile lifting equipment at the Freightliner Southampton Maritime Terminal, closely followed with the implementation of a new rail innovative TOS Tideworks system across the UK. This was closely followed with the service design and delivery of the new Freightliner rail operations out of DPW London Gateway deep sea port in the south east of the UK that commenced operations in November 2013.• Directly responsibility for delivery of all Freightliner rail operations at DPW Southampton, Tilbury (Forth Ports), Thamesport (HPUK) and Felixstowe (HPUK) UK ports operating 94 Intermodal round trip rail services every day from all these locations. • Working closely and building relations with all major UK port Operators (Hutchinson Ports UK, Dubai Ports World, ABP and Forth ports) • Direct responsibility for Freightliner T&RS (Traction & Rolling Stock) production activities at Ipswich and Southampton Operations, responsible for delivering the production element of loco’s and rail wagons to meet the Freightliner intermodal business requirements. • Working closely with Network Rail on various rail projects, right time arrival/departures initiatives around the UK to promote rail as the safest and most cost-efficient sustainable transport alternative to road and/or sea operations.• Key stakeholder with Freightliner group on the ERS (2013) acquistion & FPL (Poland) start up (2007) acquisitions/operations business reviews respectively working outside of the UK on various project management roles within FL group
