Bellows Technology Limited design and manufacture a comprehensive range of stainless steel bellows in a wide range of stainless steels and exotic alloy materials, size range is from 50mm (2”) to 3000mm (120”) nominal diameter inclusive.Our state of the art stainless steel bellows forming equipment and the implementation of lean manufacturing techniques also enable us to supply anything from one-off items right through to larger quantity production batches, on time, every timeWe can also provide a series of associated movement-control products such as EPDM Rubber Bellows, Fabric Compensators, and Stainless Steel Braided Hose and PTFE lined Braided Hose assemblies, that further compliment our core manufacturing activities.

Hydroflex predominately manufactures precision bellows for the aerospace, defence and high vacuum market sectors. In my role as Engineering Manager I am responsible for the complete product life cycle from initial enquiry through design, testing and final product release. I also work closely with Sales and Marketing Management Team in developing the company strategy for the next 12-18 months and I am responsible for establishing new business initiatives with our key strategic partners.My key responsibilities are:• Evaluation and pricing of new business initiatives and contract negotiations for existing customers ;• Reporting to the MD on both engineering and financial activities each month;• Key Account Management including onsite technical consultation;• Management for the design and engineering departments of Hydroflex;• Responsibility for the design and production engineering departments;• Accountability for continual improvement within the organisation.Main Achievements• Development of the organisation’s quality management system;• Successfully implemented ISO 9001:2008 within the organisation;• Successfully winning significant contract within the aerospace industry to which we are now a key supplier to Airbus on the A320 and A380 projects;• Implemented a cost reduction program by improving design and manufacturing efficiency within the organisation; • The introduction and implementation of Solid Works and Cosmos software in to the engineering department;• Introduction of bellows engineering best practices and mathematical analysis therefore reducing the requirement for prototype testing;• Implementation of Vantage manufacturing software system.

KE-Burgmann contacted me directly in 2003 to join their new UK operations. My first two months with KE were spent at their Bredan site in Denmark assessing the efficiency of their sales, engineering and production departments. A formal report and improvement plan was then presented to the Managing Director of KE. All key improvements were then implemented and continually measured to ensure improved performance.My key responsibilities included:• As Engineering Manager I was responsible for 7 design engineers both in the UK and Denmark and all downstream engineering personnel;• Reporting directly to the Board on all Engineering and Production matters.Main Achievements• Design and implementation of a new engineering environment, which included the purchase of new machinery for the manufacture of hi-tech expansion joints for clients such as Rolls Royce, Shell UK and Alstom Power;• The introduction of Finite scheduling using Preactor thereby improving the work flow through the company;• Implementation of shop floor data capture to ensure accurate budget control during manufacture;• Member of the technical committee for the new European ‘Metal Bellows Expansion Joints for pressure Applications’ CEN/TC 342.

My key responsibilities included:• GA Drawings and preliminary and final designs including technical calculations;• Full APQP including FMEA and Quality Plans and associated documents for new products;• Completion of final data dossiers including FMEA analysis.Main Achievements• Leader of the team that achieved PED accreditation from Zurich.

My key responsibilities included:• Responsible for the management of all design engineers and all downstream engineering personnel;• Responsible for all expansion joint production from design through to on site commissioning.Main Achievements• Introduction of shop floor routing to enable accurate traceability;• Implementation of work scheduling using MS Project;• Managed QA department on orders that required ASME U stamp Certification;• Implemented Vantage manufacturing software;• Designed and implemented a new engineering environment to create optimum efficiency.
