I actively monitor trends. • Input to commercial tenders as subject matter expert, coordinated the production of business cases and led procurement activities for new vessel purchases and the sale of old vessels. • Managed key Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) contract with a net operating profit after tax of AU$2.3M per annum. This included managing contract compliance of ports and supply of emergency towage around the coast of Australia at short notice. Achieved all operational KPI’s for three consecutive years which resulted in the company receiving a bonus each year of the contract award. • Successfully implemented a centralised online monitoring system for vessel certification across 85 vessels. Marine Superintendent
Engaged to standardise deck and marine vessel operations in the Middle East region, increasing efficiency and reducing crewing and maintenance costs across a fleet of 40+ vessels. I was responsible for identifying and implementing cost reduction initiatives to reduce OPEX costs, to reduce LTIF and manage the safe movement of vessels to and from dry docks within the region.• Conducted annual HSE, ISM and ISPS internal audits and pre-contract and on hire inspections. • Managed Petrofac tug and support vessel operations in the port of Hamriyah, UAE including off takes and SBM maintenance. • Managed vessel relocations to and from dry dock, including the Middle East piracy security requirements. • Successfully managed audit programme to identify fleet best practice and identify operational efficiencies. Delivered final report with recommendations to the senior team. Subsequent implementation of recommendations led to a cost reduction in excess of $500K.

Regular interaction with the Master and the crew ensure that I was part of an efficient and well motivated team. This is an imperative part of my position. I regularly took the ship in and out of Dover and Calais, as I found this one of the most enjoyable aspects of the job.
