Andy is a veteran commercial real estate finance executive with thirty-plus years’ experience originating, underwriting, structuring and closing debt and equity transactions. During that time, Andy has sourced capital for more than $2 billion of multi-family, office, industrial, hotel and net-lease transactions across the Nation and has the hindsight of working through multiple recessions and “black swan” events. His experience includes eleven years with GE Capital, where he focused on hospitality and single-tenant/owner-user commercial finance transactions, including sale-leasebacks and synthetic leases. During his time with GE, he was the top national originator twice and top regional producer five times. Andy’s background includes four years with First Union Bank as a portfolio manager and five years with Wachovia Real Estate Capital Markets, where he originated CMBS and life insurance debt for all property-types. Andy has extensive relationships in CRE capital markets that include lending institutions, family offices, private equity/debt and various investment managers. His early career included working as a commercial appraiser and feasibility consultant. Andy also has the insight of investing in multiple office, industrial, and hospitality properties alongside his clients. Andy’s diverse background as a lender, appraiser, capital intermediary, and investor provides a unique perspective to each assignment that few can match.Andy earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Virginia with concentrations in finance and marketing. He has taken CCIM classes, Appraisal Institute classes and is Six Sigma Certified. Andy periodically guest lectures for the Virginia Tech Real Estate Program in Blacksburg, Virginia and has served as a moderator and expert on various industry panels for both local and national associations.
