Assist in establishing and developing a new entity, Cal-Western Forest Products, to facilitate the sale of a lumber company and the management of various properties. Independently created an accounting system in order to accommodate the new entity’s investment activities. Advise management on necessary processes and possible opportunities. Coordinate services and review work product of outside professionals, including attorneys and accountants. Work closely with vendors to maintain and grow relationships.

Helped to expand BOSC’s presence in Texas by developing a new customer base primarily consisting of community banks. In a short amount of time, worked independently to develop and maintain a community bank customer base, which included some of the largest community banks in Texas, and a small customer base of insurance companies and money managers. Developed a very in-depth understanding of the banking industry as a whole, which involved analyzing financial statements of current and future clients and being up-to-date on important regulatory issues. Created analytical and statistical tools to help identify possible new investment opportunities, with an emphasis on researching which opportunities were desirable for each specific customer. Simplified this cumbersome data into customized format for each customer to review and understand. Developed relationship with internal partners (for example, correspondent bankers) to help meet customer’s needs.

Promoted to associate junior program in order to develop a role in the financial institutions market. Covered a variety of clients, including: large banks, insurance companies, and money managers. Prospected and successfully developed client relationships in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Alaska. Developed a general understanding of the community banking model. Worked with internal partners for cross-sale opportunities, including treasury management and correspondent banking.

Served as an assistant to one of the top producers for Wells Fargo Institutional Brokerage and Sales, covering mainly corporate and public entity accounts. Specific tasks included communicating with customers, finalizing trades with customers, and working with internal partners to create and maintain relationships with customers.

Served as a personal banker in one of the bank’s main, and very prominent, locations in downtown Dallas. This is where I learned the basics of banking through opening basic checking and savings accounts, lending money, auditing tellers, discussing investment opportunities with current and potential retail customers, and otherwise managing the affairs of the branch.
