Pelican Media, was a specialist property marketing and design consultancy producing creative solutions for every stage of the marketing process, from planning and identity right through to eventmanagement and point of sale. Touch, the interactive touchscreen operation of Pelican Media provided a completely new way of talking to customers, providing detailed property information whilst interacting with video, animation and computer generated imagery.I planned and managed the software production and then ultimately the complete operation, frominitial client dialogue and project planning, to briefing illustration, software programmers, computerengineers and the installation team for some of the largest developers in the country, Barratts, St George, St James, Berkeley Homes, Dandara, Redrow, Countryside, Crest Nicholson, George Wimpey, Laing O’Rourke, Land Securites, European Land and Northacre.In the last year at Pelican I installed three complex interactive systems at landmarks venues across London and Abu Dhabi, for Candy and Candy, One Hyde Park; St George The Tower, One St George Wharf; Saadiyat Island Resort, TDIC respectively.

Responsible for developing a marketing strategy, a name, an identity, literature and advertising, and in some instances complete branding including sub-brands (phases), signage and wayfinding systems, hoarding, marketing suite layouts interior design and graphics; exhibition design and graphics, direct mail and websites. Initially employed as a senior designer my desire to be involved in all aspects of a project and my knowledge of print processes developed into the role of Studio and Print Manager

Seven years designing everything from local press advertising to complete rebranding and corporateidentity. Areas ranged from large scale furniture retailers producing seasonal mailers, sales brochuresand advertising campaigns, to motor finance collateral and CDRoms for Jaguar, Ford, Mazda, Volvo and Ducati, however my most prestigious projects were for Cable & Wireless. I produced a quarterly magazine which was distributed around the globe, designed numerous brochures, invitations and launch literature, a complete corporate identity and re branding exercise and a 150 year anniversary perfect bound book.

Silvara were a quality printing company with their own design studio, reprographics and finishing departments. Clients included Schwarzkopf, Yardley, Clairol, Revlon, Wedgwood and Ernest Jones. This was my first real job out of college, pre computers, where I learnt much about the printing process, from liasing with typesetters and producing artwork correctly and accurately, to understanding aboutplatemaking, proofing, paper, die-cutting and finishing.
