I have 20+ years of technical research/managerial experience from major labs, including Harvard, UCSF, and Stanford. As a lab manager my responsibilities have included acquisition, set-up, and maintenance of lab equipment, ordering and shipping of supplies, equipment and mice, creating and maintaining lab databases, coordinating with building management and inspectors, acting as lab liaison to several agencies which have included, but are not limited to EH&S, DEA, and IACUC, acting as lab liaison to several administrative departments, including finance departments, animal resources, and technology development offices, overseeing certification/training of lab members, and ensuring that all safety protocols were followed properly, and ensuring the smooth operation for up to 1000 students for several lab courses in the biology department at Ohio UniversityAside from my managerial skill set, I have extensive research experience and have made unique contributions to several publications over the years. This includes identifying the role of Dachsous2 during retina development at Harvard Medical School, the role of the maternal immune response to hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and fetal demise at the University of California, San Francisco, and the use of adeno-associated virus as a delivery system for neurotrophic factors in treating degenerated spiral ganglion at The University of California, San Francisco. Finally, I was part of a team investigating the genetic profile and function of microglia, using several innovative molecular biology techniques, at Stanford University. In addition to my managerial and research skill set, I have also instructed labs at Ohio University. These have included introductory biology lab (BIOS 1705) and genetics lab (BIOS 3105).
