EMMA is a worker-owned creative technology cooperative. We make software, art, and games. I taught at LIU Post for five years, starting the year that the school began its undergraduate game design program. Some of my accomplishments at the university include:✦ Developed and taught many new classes. Nearly every class I taught at LIU was developed by me from the ground up. I created 14 new classes (including Physical Interfaces, Programming Movement, and Level Design), and taught many more.✦ Held numerous events on and off campus for students and recruitment. This included showing student work at major conventions, such as PAX and IndieCade, and making LIU into a Global Game Jam site that drew both students and members of the community.✦ Founded the game design workshop, a space for our largely commuter student body to work on projects outside of class hours.✦ Taking the game design program from scratch to the largest program in the School of Visual Arts, Communications & Digital Technologies. The program grew significantly in size every year that I taught there.✦ Took on the role of director in 2020, formally guiding the program.
