Played a key role in the successful delivery of the project to transfer six production lines from the Belgium factory to the Brierley Hill facility in the UK and the subsequent closure of the Belgium factory.Project managed the localisation to the UK of the supply chain for four of the transferred product lines. Implemented production planning for the two complex production lines, and managed the production lines whilst the processes were embedded, before handing over to BAU management within the factory.Managed the outsourcing of production of some legacy products, to ensure that customer requirements were fulfilled whilst not impacting the day to day production operations and profitability.
Integration Project Manager
In August 2016 the Breedon acquisition of Hope completed, and I played a key role in the integration of the two businesses including the migration of supplier and customer data / ledgers into the Breedon systems. I also played a key role in the development and roll out of the new Direct Debit collection solution in the Breedon business and then managed the transfer of the Cement customers to the new Direct Debit solution.During the integration, I kept office morale high and maintained the team’s determination to provide a great service to the end, and ensure a seamless handover to the Breedon teams. Following the successful integration and transfer of the transactional activities, I supported the team exiting the Hope business and managed the ultimate closure of the offices.Following the successful integration of the Hope Construction Materials business into the Breedon group, I was asked to stay and lead the team implementing a full Payroll & HR system for the enlarged Breedon group including bringing the outsourced element of payroll processing in house. This included system specification, planning the implementation, analysis of risks and ensuring these were mitigated, stakeholder management and business communications through to data migration and the successful go live of the new system.
Transactional Services Manager
Hope Construction Materials was formed in January 2013 from assets divested from the merger of Lafarge and Tarmac, resulting in two companies being created containing the assets sold from each donor company.I joined the company on formation to create a full transactional shared services team including AP, AR, cashiers and haulier administration from scratch, setup the required banking / BAC’s payment facilities and develop all controls, policies, processes and KPI’s for the business. This was achieved for both parts of the business (different legal entities) on two different IT platforms, including providing one consolidated set of reports for the business.Managed the moves of both teams into new offices including location selection, office design, team engagement and ongoing facilities management.Following the decision to merge the two parts of the business, I led the two teams through transforming to provide a true shared service to the amalgamated business including the complete restructuring of both teams along functional lines.Following the decision to implement new Enterprise Resource Planning software (ERP) across the combined business, I led the implementation of the transaction services and logistics elements of the new SAP system at the same time as ensuring the move to being one limited entity was successful. This included ensuring that the system met all business requirements, and the migration of all master andtransactional data from the two legacy systems into the new system. After the successful implementation of SAP further improvements were made including EDI and Direct Debit collection. One to one reviews were rolled out throughout the teams and individual development plans agreed with all colleagues. In November 2015 the acquisition of Hope by Breedon was announced and I led the team through the uncertainty of the period in the run up to acquisition whilst still making further business improvements, including the Concur expenses system.
