Mr. Wright prepares and prosecutes patent applications in the mechanical, electromechanical, computer systems, and software arts, with experience in semiconductor devices, medical devices, business methods, artificial intelligence, and data storage. Mr. Wright’s practice additionally involves performing searches for clients, including freedom to operate (right to use), invalidity, patentability, and opposition searches. Mr. Wright is also experienced in the preparation of invalidity and non-infringement opinions.Mr. Wright has experience representing clients on both sides of post-grant proceedings, having successfully invalidated a patent under the current inter partes review (IPR) regime (including a favorable result on appeal at the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit), and having successfully defended plural patents under the former inter partes reexamination regime.Prior to joining CSC, Mr. Wright gained more than four years experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications, providing client counseling, conducting searches, and preparing opinions at an intellectual property boutique firm in the Washington, D.C. area. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Wright worked as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office for over six years, attaining the position of Primary Examiner.
