I have been heavily involved in the education field since 2016 over the course of 8 years leading up to where I am now. Two years prior, I started out as a small-time volunteer employee who was a tutor's assistant for various STEM programs that were held at Fresno State. After about a year or 2 of doing that, I transitioned over to being an intern for California Teaching Fellows Foundation (CTFF) in the summer 2016 for an after-school university being held on campus for that summer. Once that ended, I finished high school and immediately started working in the food service industry. I started out as a busser and picked up various skills to help hone my work ethic within the 18 months of working as a busser. Eventually, I got bumped up to a food runner to help servers run food out to their table for about 3 months. Soon enough, my efforts were recognized and I was promoted to being a server for about 8 months where I was able tone and sharpen my customer service skills which would be carried with me into future jobs as experience. After that, I landed a job as an after-school tutor at Tioga Middle School for CTFF where I got re-hired and started collaborating with a group of other tutors and an assistant site lead from CTFF to provide professional development to students who stayed in the after-school program. I worked as that for 2 years and now I am an assistant site lead at Tioga Middle School where project management and leadership are a few of the key components that are displayed as part of my job.
