Andy Barker is a trainer, certified coach, author, writer and public speaker with a strong background in corporate senior management. He is a founder of Mind Fitness Training. He co-wrote UNLOCK YOU, published by Pearson in 2019. Andy is passionate about promoting better mental health and wellbeing. He is a Mental Health First Aider and also a Mental Health First Aid England Instructor Member.Andy’s career was always in the creative industries. Whilst General Manager of a music production company he was recruited to join a small speculative start-up department of Sony. The start-up became Sony’s PlayStation division, Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe, where he spent twenty years in the senior management team.PlayStation enjoyed meteoric growth. This fast changing, challenging and highly rewarding environment enabled Andy to gain diverse global business experience. At Sony, he served as a board director of the industry trade association Ukie and sat on the Executive Board of the Government body The UK Council for Child Internet Safety. Andy acquired knowledge and skills that have been invaluable in establishing a training company that spans a wide range of markets and requires a heavily people-centred approach.It was at PlayStation that Andy's fascination in personal development and mentoring became a passion that led him to formally train in his specialisation of Cognitive Behavioural Coaching. Andy left Sony to establish Mind Fitness Training.Mind Fitness harnesses neuroscience to teach life-changing cognitive skills that allow people to unlock their true potential. Mind Fitness teams work with a range of organisations helping to reduce stress, build resilience and realise potential.Andy is a proud Trustee of The Living Theatre, a charity created to develop a professional working community theatre in a rural open space with access to industry experience for all whilst promoting mental wellbeing, community engagement and personal development.
