As a creative technologist with a strong passion for radio broadcasting and its on-going convergence with digital platforms, I have a keen eye for 'what's next?' backed up by over 10 years experience in the UK radio industry. Recognised as one of the Radio Academy's "30 Under 30", I am driven by a desire to make a difference to a radio listener's experience through the thoughtful application of appropriate technologies.I am an experienced software developer across technologies including Objective-C (iOS development for iPhone, iPod and iPad), Visual C# (Windows Phone), PHP, Python and Java. Previous projects have included UX design with a keen eye for functional yet aesthetically pleasing interfaces. In addition I have an extensive knowledge of XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and associated frameworks such as jQuery. Competent skill set in system administration on Linux and Windows and with applications such as Apache, MySQL and BIND.As one of the founding members of the RadioDNS Project I continue to look after the on-going maintenance of the core system. I was the original author and editor for the application technical specifications and I am still application team lead for RadioTAG, successfully collaborating with the BBC and manufacturer Frontier Silicon and resulting in a Radio Academy Technical Innovation Award at the Radio Festival 2011.In my spare time I enjoy exploring emerging technologies and other complimentary areas of study, most recently experimenting with an Arduino electronics development kit.Previously I have been employed as a radio producer and presenter, producing my own shows as well as directing talent for both local and national audiences.
