Passionate about Music Education, currently working in collaboration with schools and external agencies to enrich the musical experiences of young people across the London Borough of Sutton.I have worked in the education sector for the past ten years, specifically in music and performing arts. My career started in arts administration, working in the performing arts department of an outstanding secondary school. It was after this I moved to secondary music teaching, which developed my knowledge and experience of music pedagogy.Since leaving full-time classroom teaching, I have joined the music hub branch of music education. I pride myself on working with local schools and external partners to enrich the musical experiences of children and young people in the London Borough of Sutton. Results of these opportunities have included young musicians from Sutton performing at prestigious venues such as the Royal Festival Hall and the Birmingham Symphony Hall. In local schools, I deliver whole-class ensemble tuition in a range of disciplines from ukulele to music production.I have actively upskilled in my current role – becoming Sutton’s London Music Fund mentor, a Trinity Gold Arts Award Adviser, and a coach as part of a companywide coaching culture. I am a member of a variety of working groups within the wider company including as a Mental Health First Aider, and have worked as a member of the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion ambassador group.My qualifications include a Bachelor of Music (BMus) from the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, a Licentiate in Music Teaching from Rockschool Ltd (LRSL), and a PGCE in Secondary Music Education from St Mary’s University.
