Technical Manager for the Poultry and Meat Catergory. Responsible ensuring due dilgence throughout the supply chain. Managing the the suppliers into the Meat & Poultry Category through supplier audits world wide, complaint reduction and risk assessment. Responsible for ensuring all products had a legal specification from the supplier.Responsible for ensuring all packaging/artwork was signed off legally and complying to Brakes COP.Responsible for updating the business on legal issues within the category.During my time at Brakes I was also responsible for successfully applying for an EC Approval number for a multi species cutting hall in London and running the day to day Technical Management.Products covered in this catergory; Poultry; coated, raw, cooked, reformed. Red Meat, Pork, Lamb, Bacon, Sausages, Ham, Ready Meals

Promoted to technical manager at the Uckfield poultry site. Main responsiblities at the Uckfield site included the following; ensuring BRC certification, main contact for customers; Sainsbury, Tesco's, Asda, Somerfield. Main contact for MHS, OVS, EHO, TSO. Resposible for managing effectively the Quality Management Team and the Hygiene crew and reducing complaints to acceptable level.The Uckfield site employed appox 500 personnel had a slaughter hall, portioning section, whole bird section and an added value section.

As Operations Quality Manager on this large poulty site involved running the QA team on the factory floor. Key responsiblities included;- Managing the QA team ensuring they were performing effectively.- Working closely with management on the factory floor ensuring all GMP & Specification issues were highlighted and resolved appropriately.- Ensuring the Internal Audit Schedule was being carried out, documented and was upto date.As QA manager on this site I implemented training programmes for the QA team and build the team up ensuring the correct people were in the team.

As Hygiene Manager of this High Risk Poultry site, was initially brought in to trouble shoot and to develop the night shift crew.During my time at Newbridge I was responsible for;- Reducing absentee levels among the staff to an acceptable level.- Reducing positive environmental listeria to a negligible level.- Ensuring the correct hygiene procedures and schedules were followed.- Successfully passing Marks & Spencers Hygiene audits.

Joined Grampian's QA Graduate Programme in 1997. The first 6 months involved travelling around the different divisions within the group and gaining exposure in; red meat, pork, poultry, farms & hatcheries.After the 6 months I was based in the Grampian Witham Site which was a high volume retail portioning site. During my year at Witham I gained experience in the day to day management of the team and exposure to customers such as Tesco's and Sainsburys.After a year at Whitham I was then transferred upto GCFG Bucksburn where I gained exposure to the slaughter and whole birds processing operations
