I am the managing director at Lennons Solicitors. I head the property, commercial and wills, probate and life planning departments in the practice. I became a partner at Lennon & Co in 1991.When I offer legal advice, I am often working with fellow company directors and business owners. I like to talk to clients about the business risks involved with certain courses of action and about the implications for businesses of acting in particular ways, as well as dealing with legal issues. In many cases, people in business do not have the opportunity to talk with other business people about the challenges they face, so they find these broader discussions helpful. I am active in the local business community and I promote Lennons Solicitors as a modern, forward-looking and responsive legal practice. The other directors at Lennons Solicitors share my vision. We aim to grow, and we aim to remain an independent law practice. I regularly encourage people to use solicitors more often. With that objective in mind we have just undergone a major modernisation and rebranding activity which covered all aspects of our communications with our clients and with our community. From 1991 until 2011, I was a partner at Lennon & Co. In 2011 we created a limited company and became Lennons Solicitors Limited. At that time I became managing director of the new company. From 1983, when it was founded, until 2011, when we became a limited company, the practice grew, both in terms of the services it offers, and in terms of its personnel. In 1994 we moved into larger premises, in Broadway Court in Chesham, where we still have offices. In 1998 we opened our office in Amersham after acquiring an Amersham-based legal practice.During my career as a solicitor I have focused on non-contentious legal work, first dealing mostly with conveyancing, will drafting and probate, and then moving into commercial property and company work. Helping clients to manage the legal aspects of residential property development projects has always been, and remains, central to my work.
