After experiencing the growth that came as a result of the pandemic, the focus shifted from building scalable technology to scaling the people in the engineering team. Through 2021 the number of team members grew by more than 4X. I was one of only a few key voices in decision making around hiring strategy and candidate screening. In addition, I created the initial structure for a 30/60/90 onboarding plan that is now leveraged across multiple departments throughout the company.Along with scaling the team, the company had to focus deeply on security & compliance. I was a key member in cross department collaboration to push security initiatives forward and my broad knowledge of the application (technical & functional) were critical to the SOC readiness initiative.Many of the key enhancements and additions related to AI/ML for the platform were driven by me. Through improvements to AI, I was able to directly impact proctor efficiency by reducing noise to the queue by more than 70%. In addition to changes related to facial detection, I introduced the first ML models used by the company for both predictive analytics and real-time data analysis.

Led the engineering organization through 33x hyper growth triggered by the pandemic. In order to sustain this growth, I personally identified the primary pressure points throughout the system and migrated these crucial workflows to a queue-based system in an effort to migrate to a true event-driven architecture. Prior to the pandemic, the platform would struggle to sustain 2k+ sessions per day. Through many of the efforts I led, the system has been able to sustain millions of sessions per month and consistently maintain more than 99.8% uptime.Through all this time, we were not only tasked with maintaining uptime, but we needed to add features and functionality that would meet & exceed market demands. Through this I’ve driven the development of various initiatives including multiple enhancements to our AI technology that has resulted in significant reduction in human capital spent sifting through irrelevant AI flags. All of that above was achieved while simultaneously contributing to multiple changes to technology & contract agreements that directly led to multi-million dollar savings for the organization.
