My goal is to build a health and safety consultancy that is pragmatic and ensures that the customer has cost effective solutions. Often I save the client money if I am involved in the preconstruction phase. I started as a chemical engineer for Courtaulds in 1984, working in the viscose section. I designed a crystalliser in my the first two years and over the next few year was involved in many projects. Up to 1991 I was worked on secondments in Canada and USA. My viscose engineering culminated in the design of a new spinning machine which resulting in me living for 3 year in Mobile, Alabama, USA.During this time I became heavily involved in process and occupational safety. In 1994 I returned to the UK and gained my health and safety qualifications.
