ARTIST STATEMENT Andy Mars is a Photo Artist who creates one-of-a-kind mixed-media artwork by integrating photography with watercolor and acrylic paints as well as pastel chalk and pencils. She prints on such materials as textured papers and canvas as well as traditional photographic paper. Andy’s main areas of focus are nature, people, animals, seascapes and urban scenes. Her work has been exhibited at the Memorial Arts Museum in Rochester, NY, Manhattan galleries and various Soho Gallery restaurants. In order to realize her commitment to “giving back” to the community, Andy has volunteered her services by initiating the community service committee for the Professional Women Photographers organization, and providing pet and family portraits to raise money for the dogs who worked at the World Trade Center in the aftermath of 9/11. She also works as an event photographer. In June of 2009 Andy taught mixed media photo art workshops to cancer survivors for the Creative Center in NYC and a workshop titled "What Do All Those Buttons Do On Your Digital Camera" to Senior Citizens at the Council Senior Center. Also in June Andy's photo was displayed at the Special Learning Leaders Event at The Metropolitan Museum of Art Great Hall. In September of 2009 Andy taught a pastel photo workshop at B&H camera store. She also assists Magnum Photographer, Eli Reed.

I am a freelance photographer, photo artist and instructor. I'm also an event photographer specializing in Weddings, Mitzvahs and Pet Events. As an artist, I integrate photography with watercolor, acrylic paints, ink, pastel chalk and pencils to create unique one-of-a-kind photo paintings. For a painterly effect I shoot at slow shutter speeds to create blurry dreamlike images. I print on a variety of materials, including textured photo papers and canvas, as well as traditional photographic paper. My main areas of "focus" are nature, people, animals, seascapes and urban scenes. My work has been exhibited at the Memorial Arts Museum in Rochester, NY, Manhattan galleries and various Soho Gallery restaurants.

Provide administrative support to Account Executives and Sales Managers at Photo Stock Agency. Responsibilities include managing calendars, arranging meeting and preparing correspondence. Supervised and trained employees and temps. Obtained leads and researched information relating to new business. Processed sales orders for clients. Used excel to analyze reports including daily sales totals. Followed up on new registration. Fine-tuned company website to make it more efficient for departmental and client use. Saved company money by creating an updated system for mailings, such as promo pieces and photo catalogs. Increased sales leads by 16.5% through cold calls. Liaison between creative and sales department. Created shared excel files each month with tear sheet information for creative research use which helped define the image needs of the company's photo collection.

Managed all business aspects of toddler and after-school center including pay-roll. Processed class registration and handled customer service. Photographer and Videographer for classes and events. Created and distributed class and event information flyers. Performed general office responsibilities to provide support for staff of 30.
