I've enjoyed a 16-year career to date with Shaw Industries, one of the world's largest carpet manufacturers, serving as Training & Development Manager since 2015. I align learning solutions to support both the business and human capital needs of a 1K workforce spanning 5 facilities. This includes safety/quality programs, recruiting/succession planning, on-the-job training, and leadership development. Highlights of a few programs and initiatives I have participated in, include:- Addressed poor feedback for a tedious Safety & Quality Training program with redesigned/streamlined content that generated excitement, improved adoption, and reduced costly production downtime. - Chartered a new Toastmasters Chapter, served as the 1st President (2016) and VP of Education (2017) with participation from staff at multiple facilities. - Introduced a "Train-the-Trainer" course and instituted monthly council meetings for Department Managers that encouraged collaboration and incentivized performance. - Built business case and earned buy-in for trust and engagement analysis that identified and rectified serious trust gaps in 2 out of 8 Supervisors. Expanding HR acumen beyond training, I guided staffing, compensation/benefits, and compliance functions with significant influence on big-picture talent strategy and organizational development functions.As a member of the Training Task Force, I launched a Talent Acquisition Program at the enterprise level, earned Targeted Selection certification, and facilitated over 25 classes.I also added a new 12-hour shift that enabled 24/7 operations - this included sourcing, hiring, and onboarding more than 60 new staff. We completed this expansion ahead of schedule and preserved morale with a 99% workforce retention rate.In addition, I developed Shaw's Leadership Academy training process, led on-site implementation, and ensured 100% front-line supervisor completion of leadership classes.
