‘Start-up’ operations and programme management both developing and successfully finding commercial interest in an innovative ‘digitising-to-web’ whiteboard technology.

Joined as CTO of a small technical team in a relatively small, privately owned company focused on the UK market. Led the team up to, through and post IPO and promoted to the core Product Business Unit Director of a now larger & growing international company floated on the LSE. Expanded to 120 staff (from 25) and to £235M revenue (from £70M) over 3 years. Subsequently steered the Division through major strategic changes and resulting contraction reacting to a significant market downturn and increasing competition during 2012 to 2014.-Helped to grow the business internationally and through significantly expanding the product range.-Led, organised, added vision and roadmaps, efficient operational processes, developed and rapidly expanded a small technical team into a holistic core Product Division, preparing for growth and for IPO. -Reacted rapidly to reduce the cost-base in 2012 and onwards to maintain operating margins following severe adverse market conditions. Worked closely with the plc Board to define the ongoing overall business strategy reacting to the major downturn (30% fall in 2012 to £157M)-Led the market analysis, strategy, conception and development of innovative, award winning, global products for interactive whiteboards (£87M in 24 months); flagship software (InspireTM - today used by over 2M teachers); assessment devices (£30M in 24 months); and multi-touch collaborative tables (£6M in 12 months).
