A forty plus year career in television and nearly lifelong resident of this area has inspired me to use my skills to produce stories that will bring to light the important, amazing and innovative things our friends, neighbors and citizens are doing to make Central New York a great place to live.

The Orange Television Network is the cable television station for student produced programming at Syracuse University. OTN was the first college cable TV station in the country to transition to high-definition and a tapeless production and deployment. OTN is seen on campus cable on channel 14.1 and on the web at http://orangetvnetwork.syr.edu/OTN usually employs about 20 to 25 students per year working in production, promotion and programming. The station is essentially run by the students and as General Manager my responsibility is to mentor, teach and guide the students through a professional employment experience.

I teach intermediate and advanced courses in single camera and multi-camera television production. My areas of expertise are live sports, episodic and shortform production.

I taught video field production to first and second year students. Areas covered were basic camera operation, lighting, audio recording, and editing on non-linear software.

I worked very closely with account executives crafting commercial messages and follow through to delivering final production. I very often worked one on one with the client in production and post-production process. The creative services team also worked on special projects for the station of which I was a key member of. My primary areas of responsibilty were to write, shoot and edit commercials and special project programming.

While my title was Production Manager I wore many hats as Axxess Television Production was a small, but very busy production facility. I managed a staff of four people and my role as PM included meeting with clients, preparing quotes, creating and implementing marketing plans, managing all projects through delivery to the client. I was primary DP on all projects and edited those projects as assigned.

I began on the production crew working in the studio and the field on a tremendous variety of productions: drama, music, documentary, talk, news, current events and sports. After two years on the crew I was elevated to Producer/Director and continued to work on the varied programming the defined WCNY as a leader in public affairs programming in Central New York.
