Beginning her career as a Graduate working with the manufacturing shop floor team of a global automotive enterprise gave Andy the opportunity to build a foundation of core skills in the areas of; process improvement, industrial & labour relations, change management, relationship building, business acumen, project management and HR management. In addition, Andy recognised the need to tailor her suite of skills to meet the needs of management teams and help them achieve their business goals thereby ensuring that HR was at all times a reliable and value adding business partner.During her career, Andy has been responsible for large scale cultural change projects involving complex Lean manufacturing initiatives combined with challenging labour relations environments. She has also developed and managed a project where significant employee growth was required in order to meet the business goals, this encompassed managing the entire workforce planning process. Mid-career, she worked with start-up businesses as the stand-alone HR Adviser managing a multitude of both technical HR challenges and sustainable growth over ten years, with employee numbers growing from eight to over 100 across three states. More recently, Andy has taken on the challenge to work with the team at Ochre Education, an online classroom and teacher resource hub. Here, Andy is able to combine her manufacturing and process improvement skills with her passion; the provision of equitable education for all Australian children. Qualifications include; a Master of Business Administration (RMIT), Graduate Diploma of Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management (Melbourne Uni) and Bachelor of Commerce (Monash). Andy has been a Certified 6-Sigma Black Belt since 2000 and has been able to utilise this methodology of process improvement and change management in many aspects of her career.
