Profile bio

About Aneesh Kamat

I am a proud recipient of the RWTH Quantum Technology Scholarship under the framework of the ML4Q Cluster of Excellence (awarded to 2 students annually), and will attend the MSc Physics (Quantum Technology track) from October 2024. I will further be joining the Quantum Technology group at the JARA Institute for Quantum Information, RWTH Aachen as an MSc Research Assistant this winter. I defended a Bachelor's Thesis on the Automation and Control of a Superconducting Quantum Processor following a research internship at Prof. Rajamani Vijayaraghavan's QuMaC Lab, TIFR applying machine learning techniques to optimally control superconducting qubits and build India's first quantum computer (under development) in collaboration with DRDO and TCS.Earlier, I have worked on developing a novel protocol for Quantum Control via Discrete-Time Optimal Control under Prof. Debasish Chatterjee's guidance, SysCon, IITB. We addressed the experimentally motivated constraints on control frequency, power and state-space for discrete-time Pontryagin-optimal control of quantum mechanical systems. I am interested in experimental quantum research opportunities in solid-state quantum devices and application of machine learning techniques to quantum computing. I was the elected Institute Literary Arts Secretary of IIT Bombay for 2022-23 and received the Institute Cultural Organizational Colour from the Dean for helming the transition of the oldest cultural club back offline after the pandemic.I was also the Captain of the IIT Bombay Squash (Boys) team and led the youngest squash team in the competition to Gold at Udghosh 2022 in Oct'22 at IIT Kanpur, and Bronze at the 55th Inter IIT Sports Meet in Dec'22 at IIT Roorkee.
