Working as a Desktop Planner I am responsible for providing plans and designs supporting FTTP solutions on major network projects for Flomatik’s customers, such as Virgin Media and TalkTalk. My main duties include:• Planning and prioritisation of FTTP planning work activities requirements within a geographic region using QGIS as a design tool.• Accurate completion of all planned submissions in a timely manner, including Civils plan, Fibre Allocation Sheet, Bills of Material, SLDs etc.• Highlight and escalate major design variances through the project team• Flexible approach in dealing with amendments to planned information• Identify special engineering difficulties (SED) and appropriate mitigation within the designed region• Deliver accurate and cost effective standardised detailed designs fit for construction• Good understanding of wayleaves, as well as NRSWA and street works practices• Knowledge of environmental considerations/restrictions in designing FTTP networks• Good understanding of fibre distribution network and network architecture

Flomatik has been appointed to provide specialist design services on a major network build project carried out by Virgin Media. My role is to capture the planned network designs into GDesigner, produce straight-line diagrams (SLD), collect statistics from a variety of Utility Companies and information about street works (NRSWA). Working under strict deadlines, my goal is to deliver large quantity of work to meet the monthly targets, keeping always the integrity and quality as a priority. Additionally, the Quantum GIS has been used extensively to split huge areas into smaller regions based on geographic boundaries and produce Google Maps. During this period, I was promoted to GIS Supervisor for a short period as a result of my performance, commitment and skills I have demonstrated.

My responsibilities included the collection of samples from a rotary drilling rig drilling network of six boreholes up to 250m depth, and preparation for chemical analysis for potential presence of copper, aiming at the expansion of the mine.
