Provide advice and coaching as an internal consultant to Regional Vice Presidents, District Managers, and Account Directors/Managers to address and resolve performance issues in a way which reflects Compass Group’s values, policies & guidelines, and applicable laws. Conduct investigation/mediations for all levels of employees (hourly through RVP level) including, but not limited to; discrimination, theft, harassment, workplace violence, Wage & Hour, LOA, FMLA, Worker’s Compensation, Unemployment Compensation, and Management practices, involving corporate legal counsel as appropriate. Participate in DOL, OFCCP, JCAHO audits & resolution process. Assist in evaluation of decisions and results of department in relation to organizational goals using; federal and state guidelines, HRIS reports, and market analysis. Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of all training and development activities to include individual career development for both hourly and salaried associates. Coordinate and conduct training for management on various topics; Employment law, interviewing & selection, retention, change management, performance management, performance appraisals, team building and various topics as identified through interactions with management. Assist with new account transitions & acquisition; comparing and analyzing benefits structures, new hire paperwork & orientation, client meetings, operation meetings, setting up processes & procedures to comply with company standards and creating communication pieces. Territory has included(s): Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, Kansas & Mississippi, Illinois, Indiana – with an average employee base of approximately 5600. Supervised one HR Generalist located in Louisiana.

Provide direction, guidance and support to 3 direct reports as well as indirectly guiding and supporting 20 imbedded HR professionals. Business within both sectors span over 35 states from East to West coasts with a headcount over 18,000.

Provide support to management on a wide range of employee related issues; performance management, appraisals, LOA, payroll & investigations. Conduct pre-employment screening for managerial or cash sensitive positions; fingerprinting & assessments. Assist in the development of various employee recognition programs. Manage the associate survey process to ensure all associates had opportunity to participate and ensure complete confidentiality of results, then worked with mgmt on action plans once results were compiled. Handle entire Leave process from approval to return (personal, FMLA, STD, and Military). Assist with recruiting & hiring efforts through job fairs and on site interviewing. Certified in TQM and participated in implementation. Support QA, Training & Maintenance departments on unit specific goals and efforts. Support approximately 300 associates.

Manage 6 locations throughout southern New Mexico. Handle all escalated customer concerns and worked with mgmt to improve resolution process. Audit stores to ensure compliance in the following areas; cash handling, inventory, employee relations, general store maintenance. Handle all HR related issues with staff; review and approve appraisals, internal complaints, payroll, interviewing and selecting of key personnel, terminations, internal development and promotions. Handle all aspects for new account openings; staffing, ordering and placement of inventory, coordinate installation of equipment & services, preparing grand opening events. Created and implemented a new hire orientation checklist for franchise to use throughout the region.
