I am a dedicated senior at Alabama A&M University, majoring in elementary education and proudly part of the honors program. My passion for teaching drives me to pursue a career as a third-grade teacher in the Huntsville, Alabama area, where I aim to make a significant impact on young learners' lives.I am deeply committed to combating the challenges posed by the literacy act and ensuring that no student is held back due to phonological and phonetic deficits. Through my experiences, including an internship with Breakthrough Birmingham, I have gained valuable insights into effective teaching strategies and the importance of early literacy intervention.My journey in education has also taken me internationally to the Netherlands, where I developed a prototype to enhance educational practices on my campus. As a preservice teacher of color and math advocate, I am passionate about promoting diversity in education and empowering students to excel in all subjects.I am honored to serve as a teacher ambassador and am AMSTI certified, further enhancing my skills and knowledge in teaching. My passion for the science of reading drives me to continuously learn about the literacy act and implement evidence-based practices that support student success.I am eager to connect with fellow educators, mentors, and advocates who share my commitment to education and literacy.
