• Selects, trains, schedules, and evaluates the circulation Library Clerks.• Check in, check out, renew and shelve materials, and register new borrowers.• Provides direct public service at the Circulation Desk, including policy explanation,complaint resolution, problem solving, and fine collection.• Trains the staff and the public in the effective use of the Integrated Library System.• With the Assistant Library Director, evaluates services, develops procedures, recommendspolicies, establishes work priorities, plans improvements, and delegates duties.

• Address basic questions posed by the library’s patrons and assist in locating desired materials• Direct patrons with involved questions to the appropriate resource• Assist patrons in the use of library technology, including compatibility with personal equipment• Process standard requests for holds; conduct routine catalog searches on the computer• Pull materials from the stacks; check for availability of materials using the Polaris staff client

• Hire and supervise reshelving hourly employees• Coordinate hourly employee schedules• Assign reshelving and shelf reading projects• Assume the duties of the stacks manager in her absence• Responsible for securing the east tower at closing
